Vélib’ expected to be fully operational by the summer 2018

Smovengo, the consortium now in charge of operating Vélib, said on Sunday that the entire service would be operational “this summer”. Smovengo has been receiving criticism for the delays in deployment and said that 376 stations were in service as of March 10th.

The initial target was to install 1,400 stations (or 20,000 Vélib ‘) by March 31st. Moving forward, the following scheduled has been set: More than 500 stations will be installed at the end of March, close to a thousand at the end of May/ beginning of June, and the entire service will be deployed this summer,” says Smovengo.
