The city of Paris will vote on authorising public swimming at Lake Daumesnil (in the12th) by 2019, as part of the “Nager à Paris” campaign.
The “Nager à Paris” initiative intends to improve the practice of swimming in the capital. By 2020 it aims to modernize existing facilities and construct new pools and bathing areas. The Mayor of Paris wants to see public bathing available in Daumesnil Lake by summer 2019. The project will involve the creation of three zones; a fun, family space in an area of 2600 m² with a depth from 30 cm to 60 cm, a bathing area with a surface of 2200 m² and a depth of between 30 cm and 1.5 m and a 2.5 m deep swimming area of 3200 m².
