Adjunct Instructor

For the 2019-2020 academic year, CIEE is looking for instructors and guest speakers for the courses below in our Open Campus intensive program. All courses meet on a semi-intensive schedule (2-3 times x 2h30/3h a week, for a total of 40 hours over 6 weeks). Group size ranges from 15 to 25 students.

Minimum Requirements

·       Bilingual speakers French/English (Most courses are 100% in English)

·       Proof of legal ability to work in France on a long-term basis- CIEE does not sponsor visas

·       Highest level of degree is required for many subjects (MBA, PhD or ABD, etc)


Preferred Skills

·       Interested in pedagogy and methodology, as well as experimenting with new teaching techniques and approaches

·       Excellent interpersonal skills such as listening, fostering classroom discussion,articulating lectures with more open activity formats, and enthusiastic about the course material.

·       Previous experience or familiarity with online Learning Management Systems such as Canvas in a teaching or professional setting

·       Comfortable with the prospect of addressing students with diverse backgrounds and levels of familiarity on the subject, and getting them to collaborate

·       Resourceful and creative when including outings or guest speakers in their course’s program, and generally when encouraging learning outside the classroom.


The hourly rate is between 75 and 84 euros (before employee contributions and taxes), depending on experience and qualification. It includes preparation, running the course, teaching and assessment/grading.
