Boneshaker Doughnuts raise funds for cancer survivor

A fundraiser was held on 3rd February to help finance cancer survivor Linda Lynch’s trip from the Philippines to Paris to see her daughter, (one of Boneshaker’s pastry chefs) Janae. Linda, who had previously set aside funds to make the journey, was recovering from reconstructive surgery (following a double mastectomy), but a 2018 checkup revealed further surgery was required, which unexpectedly consumed the funds. Boneshaker Doughnut founder, Amanda Bankert, explains «It seemed an easy and simple solution for us to sell doughnuts in order to replace the funds. We are usually closed on Sundays so we opened for one afternoon and 100% of proceeds went to Linda Lynch to fund her trip.» 2,000 Euros were raised, double their goal, so mother and daughter can now look forward to seeing each other soon.
