On September 28, 2019, the Shoe Pyramid will be coming to Place de la Republique in Paris for the 25th time. Humanity and Inclusion (also known as Handicap International) will be protesting against the use of anti-personnel mines and cluster munitions by inviting everyone to create a pile of shoes that will symbolically demonstrate and show solidarity for the victims that have been affected by these disastrous and unnecessary weapons of war.
For the past 25 years, major cities in France have participated in this protest. The day will include interactive learning experiences as well as the memorable Shoe Pyramid. You will be able to sign petitions, throw your shoes on top of the pile, and participate in mine-clearing demonstrations through virtual reality.
The facts state that 90% of civilian causalities are due to these types of bombings. Thus, Humanity and Inclusion are rallying people together to bring awareness to the atrocities that are occurring from the use of anti-personnel mines and cluster munitions. Come out to help bring awareness to the tragedies that these weapons of war are creating and support a good cause.
